Curiosity, experimentation, and seeking to improve the environment around him are the facets that drive Dr. Stewart in all endeavors. His dissertation was a qualitative study on how design thinking can be used to increase the number of Black architects in the United States. This choice of topic was driven by Dr. Stewarts background working in various architecture firms as well as his time as Board Member for NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects). Dr. Stewart completed his Doctorate in Business Administration at National Louis University February of 2022.
Currently he has a consultant practice entitled Ghostwolfe Holdings, where he and his partner consult businesses on development and scaling. Dr. Stewart is the fractional COO of Trep House, where he lends his expertise in developing the operations, and strategy for the organization. Also Dr. Stewart is a board member of The Climate Action Museum (CAM) based in Chicago.
1993-1999
Decided to become an architect, winning drafting and architectural competitions throughout high school (Lane Tech, HS) and securing an internship with a prominent Chicago firm.
1999-2003
While attending UIC, served as Chapter President of NOMA and studied abroad in Berlin at the Freire Universität; continued on to become a National Board Member of NOMA, expanding chapters and practices and speaking on panels.
2008: Graduate Studies
Completed first Masters degree at Roosevelt University, obtaining a Master’s of Science in Real Estate in 2008.
2009-2012: Project Management and MBA
Consulted in project management, executing projects for various clients throughout North America in both design and marketing and attended American Intercontinental University, completing an MBA with a focus in Marketing in 2012.
2013: Teaching and International Reach
In Chicago, Dr. Stewart taught Digital Media and Professional Practice at Harrington College of Design, and hosted seminars on how to start a business and other entrepreneurial endeavors. At Tribeca, he taught SEO Optimization.
In Florida, he taught Risk Finance, Global Finance, and Diversity in Marketing at Marconi International University; Public Speaking at Florida Memorial University; and Business Writing at Miami Dade College.
Concurrently, Dr. Stewart was worked on projects in London, as well as in Haiti and worked on the development of the Avalon Regal Theatre.
2022-Present: Doctorate Studies and Consultancy
Dr. Stewart completed his Doctorate in Business Administration at National Louis University February of 2022.
Today Dr. Stewart leverages his experiences as an educator, consultant, designer, strategist to initiate change in communities globally using design, entrepreneurship and business development to increase income, influence, and impact for people of color.
His consultancy practice guides businesses in development and scaling; he was also the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Director for Phius, an organization that advocates passive housing as a means to improve the functionality of buildings systems in various building types through the globe.
In 2023, Dr. Stewart, with a colleague Dr. Tiffany released a book on Doctoral experience entitled: “Lesson on Getting Through The Ph.D. Experience: From Two Black Doctors” which can be purchased by following the link.
Currently Dr. Stewart is also an adjunct professor at National Louis University in Chicago, IL.
